Hi Everyone,

My name is Michelle Ng, I had studied in Perth, West Australia in 2004. I am a mature student and I had been working as an accounting clerk for many years after graduation in Hong Kong. I love cooking and I always wanted to be chef however, I did not have relevant qualification and work experience, that is why I decided to study overseas in order to explore other country and get a cookery qualification.

When I was still gathering information and struggling what kind of course is suitable for me, my education consultant is a friendly, helpful and patient person who gave me a lot of advice and assisted me to choose the most suitable study path. As I am a mature student, cost and the quality of the program was my main concern.

At the beginning of my study in Perth, I had a serious homesick problem, my English level was not good enough at the beginning and I could not communication well with the school staffs, luckily my education consultant who she always tried her best to help me out that I really appreciate. For example, One day, I was very upset when I knew that my application was turned down by an institution in Perth, she firstly comforted me and told me not to worry and she helped me to apply another institution instead. Finally, I went to Alexander Hotel & Tourism School in Perth which is a great college.

I had studied in Perth for 2 years. I had studied few months English preparation and finally completed certificate of Commercial Cookery. Except for having a certificate, I also had chance to make friend with people from all over the world and have some work opportunities in Australia that is really helps my future career.

I want to tell other mature student that if you really want to explore your world in the foreign country, just go a head and you can do it. And I hope to have chance to go to Switzerland or France for further studies in the future.

Michelle Ng
